Microsoft 'PowerPoint' Presenters
Aimed at those people who prepare and commission material for inclusion in a PowerPoint presentation, and / or who have to deliver the completed presentation to an audience.
Note : this course concentrates on the preparation and delivery of presentations, and does not teach the details for creating PowerPoint slides etc. - this material is covered by the 'Basics' course.
The course is delivered on-site and is suitable for groups of 6 to 12 students.
Subject to a minimum group size of 4 students, we can arrange for training to take place at a venue near Ringwood, Hants. Students will need to provide their own laptop machines with the appropriate software installed.
Course requirements:
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Word will be assumed.
- Students will ideally have a basic knowledge of PowerPoint though this is not absolutely essential.
Course contents
The course can be tailored to your specific needs, and the topics covered include :
- Review of presentation theory - extended version of the material covered on the first part of the Basic course.
- First steps - defining the limits.
- Preparation.
- Getting the message right. Opening and closing.
- Organisation and review.
- Presenter notes.
- Preparing for performance.
- Setting up the equipment.
- Running the presentation - setting up and controlling the show.
- Custom shows.
- Delivery techniques - basic tips, using microphones, doing a double act.
Students will work on generating a presentation outline from printed material.
